Ok, so I was supposed to have these up last week, but I’m quickly learning everything takes a lot longer than it used to when you have a baby in the mix! It’s been an amazing 2 weeks. I was prepared for the labor….no big deal, that was easy(Thanks to our amazing nurses...

I admire your work and check your Blog to see your current work from time to time and just wanted to check to see if Miss Posey was here yet! Your labor story is truly something that we can not hear enough of and your beautiful photographs brought tears to my eyes and gave me a lump in my throat. If I wasn't at work, I'd be crying! You captured her "knowing" in her eyes in the close up with her clear pacifier in her mouth and she looks very contemplative in the black and white one with her hand on her cheek! I had my third child..but first girl ..on Sept. 25th so I can relate ;) If you haven't read the book Operating Instructions by Anne Lamott...BUY it. Its a great read, so honest. You will love it. Its all about her sons first year of life and the emotional ups and downs that go along with it. I recommend it to all new moms. Enjoy this time..it all goes by SO fast. And seriously..that hair! :) She's gorgeous.

Dayna Schroeder - Congrats Kelly. I have been keeping track of your pregnancy progress on your blog for a while now. I am a photographer in Tampa, FL and am due on November 10th. I based my scheduling of weddings off of what you had scheduled. I didn't go quite as far as you. I think you were shooting at 36 or 37 weeks? I just wrapped up my weddings for the year and completed 3 weddings this past weekend at 35 weeks along. I did amazingly well considering my big belly. Dawn Earles was our photographer for our engagements and newlywed photos. (She was going to shoot our wedding in New Orleans until Hurrican Katrina came along.) I had contacted your studio back in Feb to see if you could shoot our newlyweds but you were already booked for that weekend so we drove to Dawn's area for her to shoot us. Congrats again on the new baby girl. I am hoping for a delivery like yours.

The one thing I remember, and no one really prepares you for it --- is the over-whelming feeling of "Uhhhh?!!" that you get when your actually leaving the hospital---- there's a huge feeling of inadequateness--- "They're actually trusting us to take care of every need of this little life?" -- but not to worry, babies are very resilient and have a way of telling you what they want, which is usually food, to be endlessly held and, of course, quiet time. Ramie Babcock - Kelly! Congrats! I am so happy for you! My only suggestion: start a Posey blog. Update it often with her pics, video clips, and stories of motherhood. It's a fantastic way to 1)remember the early days, 2) update family without having to be on the phone all day, and 3)look back in a few months to watch her grow all over again! I've had 2 inductions and although they get the baby here...they aren't very fun!!! ;) (Not that natural birth is "fun" either...lol!) Either way...it will be WELL WORTH IT!!!!
